Thymus vulgaris L. (thyme), locally known“zaatar” or “zaitra’, a member of the family Lamiaceae, is widely used in Morocco folk medicine for its expectorant, antitussive, antibroncholitic, antispasmodic, anthelmintic, carminative and diuretic properties.
